Delete your Cadence account
Cadence, the unit-management app by Chris VanDyke · Last updated: September 2026
You can ask for your Cadence account and the personal information on it to be
deleted at any time. You don't need to give a reason.
How to delete it
In the app:
- Open Cadence and sign in.
- Go to More → Settings → Delete my account.
- Enter your password, type DELETE, and confirm with a
code from your authenticator app. Asking for both is what stops anyone
else who picks up your phone from deleting your account.
If you can't sign in, email
cvandyke1217@gmail.com
with the subject "Cadence account deletion request", from the email
address you sign in with. We'll reply to that address to confirm the
request came from you before scheduling anything.
What happens next
- Straight away, you're signed out on every device and
can't sign back in. Your unit's administrators are told the account is
scheduled for deletion.
- For 7 days, nothing is deleted. If you change your mind,
or didn't make the request, contact your unit's administrator and they can
cancel it — your account comes back exactly as it was.
- After 7 days, the account is permanently deleted as
described below. This can't be undone.
What gets deleted
- Your sign-in: your email address, password and linked authenticator app.
You won't be able to sign in again.
- The personal details on your profile: phone numbers, home address,
emergency contact and DoD ID.
- Your devices' notification registrations, so you stop receiving pushes.
- Your notification preferences.
- Your practice calendar: every practice day, what you checked off, and
your notes.
What is kept, and why
Some records belong to your unit's own history and name you as a participant:
past event rosters and attendance, hand receipts and equipment loans,
evaluations and counselings, Family Readiness Group accounting entries, and
chat messages you sent. Your name and rank stay on these, shown as a former
member; nothing else about you does.
These are kept after your account is deleted, because they remain part of the
unit's operational and accounting history and deleting them would change what
those records say. They show
your name as it was recorded; no new information is added to them.
